FACE – Fostering Awareness, Compassion & Empathy
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better, it’s not!”
–Dr. Suess
Orion Family Services partners with Journey Mental Health to provide FACE (Fostering Awareness, Compassion, and Empathy), an 8-week group counseling service focused on social-emotional wellness for grades K-12. The program is offered in group settings at schools, neighborhood centers, and FACE agencies throughout Dane County.
The ultimate goal of the services is to strengthen and improve a child’s individual, family, and school life by being a part of a supportive group with others in a similar situation.
Orion staff facilitate groups with the following FACE curriculum topics:
- Grief
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Coping skills
- Social skills
