And if you have interacted with her then you know that she is both kindhearted and holds a strong, warm presence. Day to day this makes her very effective on high-needs cases and we want to recognize her commitment to the families in our care, as well as her time spent with our organization.

Get to know Michelle a little more by reading the Q&A with our communications team!

Q: What is the most important thing you’ve learned in your time here at Orion?

A: Staying true to myself and setting appropriate boundaries (professionally and personally), while also pushing myself to learn and grow are all important.

Q: Biggest accomplishment in the past 5 years?

A: My integrity and overall growth.

Q: What is your “Why”?

A: I know I was called to do more. The trajectory of going from a youth worker at a group home for 8 years, years of schooling, and other experiences led me here. This was also part of my spiritual journey; I was called to do and be more and I have been led to this place in my life.

Q: Is there a person who has mentored you or been a lifeline? Give them a shout-out!

A: I have two; Tia Long and Niquanna Barnett.

Q: How do you practice self-care?

A: Sermons, prayer, time with loved ones, and taking independent time to reset.
